Unlike most tropical climates where bamboo grows, the Anji Mountains experience a freeze of approximately two months each year. The cold temperatures stop the sap flow which promotes slow growth that, consequently, produces a much denser, harder and more durable bamboo better suited for flooring use. Bamboo grows naturally without the need for pesticides or fertilizers due to an inherent, naturally-occurring anti-fungal, antibacterial agent called Bamboo Kun. Bamboo yarn is hypoallergenic which is beneficial to all, especially those with sensitive respiratory and skin conditions. Bamboo fiber is incredibly absorbent yet dries more quickly than cotton and wool.
